A campaign is the container that connects an agent, a live, callable configuration built from a blueprint, to real calls. Every call your firm handles through Compensable, whether a caller dials in or your agent dials out, runs inside a campaign.

Inbound vs. outbound

There are two kinds of campaign, and they work differently.
  • Inbound isn’t a separate object you create. You point one of your connected numbers at an agent, and every call that reaches that number is answered by that agent, in real time, following the agent’s blueprint. There’s no audience to build and no schedule to set: the campaign is just “this number, answered by this agent.”
  • Outbound is a campaign you build and launch. You build an audience of leads, choose the agent that places the calls, set a caller ID, and configure the schedule, retry, and pacing rules the campaign’s calls must follow. Voicemail drops cover the calls that go unanswered.
Both kinds run the same agent and the same blueprint logic underneath. A caller who reaches your intake line and a lead your agent calls back are qualified against the same gates, and they produce the same kind of lead record.

What you configure

  • Agent. Which blueprint-built agent answers or places the call. Agents are built and edited separately. See Agents overview.
  • Numbers. For inbound, the number a caller dials. For outbound, the caller ID your agent dials from, either a single number or a number pool that matches the lead’s area code.
  • Leads. For outbound only, the audience: a CSV upload, pasted numbers, or manually entered contacts.
  • Schedule. For outbound, the start date and time, active days of the week, and retry behavior. Inbound has no schedule; it’s live whenever the number is routed.

Where campaigns live in the Command Center

  • Outbound. Lists your outbound campaigns and is where you launch a new one through the campaign wizard. See Creating an outbound campaign.
  • Channels. Lists your connected numbers and is where you route a number to an agent for inbound calling. See Inbound routing.
  • Contacts. Every caller and every lead your agent has called has a profile page with the full timeline of calls, messages, and voicemails. See Leads.
  • Cadences. If your workspace has cadences enabled, this is where you build multi-touch follow-up sequences that layer on top of a campaign. See Cadences.
  • Voicemails. Holds your voicemail script library, delivery sequences, and drop history, used by outbound campaigns when a call isn’t answered. See Voicemail drops.
Compliance checks (consent, quiet hours, opt-outs, and DNC) run inside every call and touch a campaign places, not as a separate step you run beforehand. See Compliance overview for what’s enforced and where your firm stays in control.
