Outbound campaigns are created from the Outbound page in the Command Center, using the campaign wizard. The wizard has three steps: build the audience, configure the campaign, and review before launch.

Step 1: build the audience

Add the leads the campaign will call. Three input methods are supported.
  • Upload a file. Drop a CSV, or click to browse. Compensable auto-detects a phone column (phone, phone_number, number, or tel) and a name column if one is present.
  • Paste numbers. Paste one phone number per line.
  • Enter manually. Add numbers one at a time.
Every number is normalized to E.164 (a bare 10-digit US number is read as +1) and checked for duplicates before you can continue. The wizard shows a validation summary: valid, invalid, and duplicate counts, so you know exactly what will be dialed. You need at least one valid number to move to the next step.
The current audience model is an explicit contact list only. Saved audience segments aren’t supported yet.

Step 2: configure the campaign

  • Channel. Voice call, SMS, or email. Voice calls use your agent. SMS and email use a message template with variables like {{lead_name}}, {{lead_phone}}, and {{attorney}}.
  • Campaign name and agent. The agent that places the calls, or sends the messages.
  • Caller ID. A single connected number, or a number pool that gives each lead a number local to their area code.
  • Schedule. A start date and time, and the active days of the week the campaign is allowed to dial. Dialing windows follow each lead’s own local timezone, not the campaign’s.
  • Retry settings. How many times to retry an unanswered number, and the retry strategy: a different time of day, roughly an hour later, or the next business day.
  • Advanced settings. Max concurrent calls and pacing, in calls per second, for controlling how fast the campaign works through its audience.
The panel on the right keeps a running estimate as you configure: dialable leads, total dials including retries, estimated duration, calendar days, and estimated cost.

Step 3: review and launch

Before you launch, the wizard shows:
  • The estimated cost, prominently, based on total dials and your channel’s per-unit cost.
  • A summary of the campaign’s settings: name, agent, caller ID, start time, active days, dialable numbers, and retry configuration.
  • A compliance checklist covering DNC registry status, calling-hours and consent requirements, caller ID and STIR-SHAKEN attestation, recording disclosure for two-party-consent states, and a duplicate check against your other active campaigns.
  • An explicit warning that launching activates the campaign, that a launch can’t be fully undone, and that calls already connected can’t be recalled. Use “Pause dialing” after launch to stop future calls.
1

Build the audience

Upload a CSV, paste numbers, or enter them manually. Confirm the valid count before continuing.
2

Configure the campaign

Pick the channel, agent, and caller ID. Set the schedule, active days, and retry strategy.
3

Review and launch

Check the cost estimate and compliance checklist, then confirm and launch.

How the agent opens the call

When an outbound call connects, the agent follows its blueprint the same way it would on an inbound call. The only difference is that the agent speaks first, since it placed the call. If a lead has called in before, or your agent has reached them on a prior attempt, the agent’s opening reflects that history rather than treating them as a first-time caller.

After launch

Once a campaign is running, you can pause dialing to stop future calls without disturbing calls already in progress. You can review results (per-lead status, outcome, duration, and cost) from the campaign’s detail page. See Leads for what happens to a lead record after each call, and Voicemail drops for what the agent does when a call goes unanswered.
