# Data and erasure

> What the platform keeps about callers and leads, and how to request deletion.

## What's kept

A call and the lead it belongs to generate several kinds of records, all scoped to your organization:

* **Lead and contact details.** The lead record itself and any answers captured during the call.
* **Call recordings**, where recording is enabled for that call. See [Call recording](/guides/compliance/recording).
* **Transcripts.** The call transcript and, where transcript search is enabled for your workspace, a redacted copy broken into chunks for search and similarity lookups. Redaction lowers what's exposed in that copy, but a redacted transcript chunk is still personal data, not de-identified data: the content can still identify the person who was on the call.
* **Audit events.** Every compliance decision, takeover, and material action tied to a call or a lead, appended to your organization's audit trail.
* **Cadence and consent records.** The touch ledger (what was allowed or denied and why), consent attestations, and suppression/opt-out entries for a contact.

Everything above is scoped by organization, so one firm's data is never visible to another's. Transcripts, voicemail delivery history, cadence ledgers, and campaign audiences can be exported from the product; see [Leads](/guides/campaigns/leads#exporting).

Compensable does not currently run an automatic retention countdown that deletes call or lead data on a fixed schedule. Data for a call or lead is kept until you ask for it to be removed, as described below.

## Requesting deletion

Deletion of a specific person's data, or of an entire workspace, is handled by Compensable's support team rather than as a self-serve action in the product today. To request it, contact support with enough detail to identify the person (phone number, name, or lead ID) or confirm you're requesting a full workspace erasure.

Compensable maintains an internal inventory of every system that can hold personal data (tables, storage buckets, search indexes) specifically so a deletion request can be checked against a complete list rather than whatever a person doing the work happens to remember. New systems that store personal data are required to register in that inventory before they ship.

<Warning>
  Deletion is not instant and is not currently available as a self-serve API or dashboard action. If your firm needs a documented, verifiable record of a specific deletion for legal or contractual reasons, say so when you submit the request.
